Great question…but we may never know for sure. There are lots of theories out there. We don’t know the exact phrasing of any of the questions but Jordan has given us bits of information. Here’s what we know for sure. 1. One question was, “How can I cleanse the taint?” We don’t know the exact answer but Herid Fel said it “stated sound principles in both high philosophy and natural philosophy” and Rand used the information in his plan that climaxed at the end of Winter’s Heart. 2. In response to another question the Aelfinn told him, “If you would live, you must die.” A speculation is that Rand asked if he would survive the Last Battle. 3. Rand told Mat that going to Rhuidean was his own idea. The Aelfinn did not mention it to him. That leaves us with no hints to the third question and answer.
