Under NCLB, funding is provided to offer additional tutorial services to eligible students that will result in student proficiency in Language Arts and Mathematics on the state tests. Supplemental Educational Services (SES) are free tutorial services offered to eligible students by outside providers. A variety of services, length of sessions and locations, is offered by State-approved providers. Title I eligible* students in grades 1-12 who are enrolled in a School In Need of Improvement Year 3 or more are eligible to apply for Supplemental Educational Services. *Title I eligible students are those students who have been approved for the Free or Reduced Lunch Program. Funding for SES is limited. Parents are encouraged to sign up their child at their school by September 30. If funding is not sufficient to service all eligible students, the district will use test scores to prioritize services from highest to lowest academic need in language arts and mathematics.
