Some types of roofing materials or roof paints may contaminate the rainwater you are harvesting. The most suitable types of roofing materials are: • Colorbond steel • Zincalume steel • Glazed tiles (well fired) • Concrete tiles • Clay tiles • Fibro (treated, newer type) Urban Tanks will advise you if you have any other type of roofing material. Newly painted roofs must use a special paint suitable for the collection of rainwater. This paint does not contain anti-mould agents. Older paints may be acceptable, but if in doubt, please seek advice from Urban Tanks.
