A clear, specific, and measureable EMS objective that maximizes survivability is fundamental for EMS. During a mass casualty incident (MCI), it is critical to have the right objective, tools, and training. Simulations have shown that STM increases the number of survivors (outcomes) for MCIs by hundreds of percent.
