“Star levels” are a combined qualification of skill and complexity of pictures. We use star levels to set the minimum requirements for pictures in the various rooms. “Skill” is a reflection of the artist’s ability and knowledge of drawing, as exhibited in a picture. It includes such factors as correctness of anatomy, perspective, light and shadow, composition and handling of the oekaki applets. “Complexity” is a reflection of the level of overall detail in a picture, and often of the time required to produce it (i.e. it just takes longer to put in a lot of detail).
