What are Standby concerns with Windows XP?
If you have a Gateway® wireless keyboard or mouse for your computer and the computer has Microsoft® Windows® XP installed, you may encounter a problem in which the computer is unable to be awakened from Standby mode by the keyboard or mouse. If this problem is encountered, it may be that the device, whether the keyboard, the mouse, or both, may not be identified as a wake-up device in the Power Management properties for that device. This problem is more commonly experienced with USB type input devices. Perform the following steps to activate the mouse and allow it to bring the system out of Standby in Windows XP. The keyboard can be activated in a similar manner.
