What are Standby concerns with Windows 2000 and XP?
If you have a Logitech keyboard or mouse on your computer, you may encounter a problem in which the computer is unable to be awakened from Standby mode by the keyboard or mouse. If this problem is encountered, it may be that the device, whether the keyboard, the mouse or both, may not be identified as a wake-up device in the Power Management properties for that device. This problem is more commonly experienced with USB type input devices. The Power Manager Properties for the device can be enabled by entering the Device Manager Properties for the device and enabling the option: “Allow the device to bring the system out of standby”. The keyboard device may be identified under the Keyboards in the Device Manager as either HID Keyboard Device or Logitech HID-Compliant Keyboard. The mouse may be identified as HID-Compliant Mouse, Logitech USB WheelMouse or HID-Compliant Cordless Mouse. The following procedures provide instructions for activating the mouse to bring the system out of Standby
