What are standard postoperative instructions?
Gauze bandages are removed after a few days and then a surgical bra is recommended to improve stability and promote optimum healing. For a few weeks, patients should not overexert themselves or lift heavy items. For patients who have had transaxillary incisions, shaving under the arms and applying deodorant should be avoided for two to three weeks.
