What are SSRIs?
SSRIs, or selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, are used in the treatment of depression and/or personality or anxiety disorders. They are also commonly prescribed by doctors for the treatment of premature ejaculation or insomnia. Due the effectiveness of SSRIs, they have become some of the most commonly prescribed antidepressants in the United States. However, they are highly addictive and when a patient stops taking them, they can experience powerful SSRI withdrawal symptoms.
