What are SOPs?
SOP’s, or Standard Operating Procedures, are a pre-defined set of practices and rules of engagement, that we encourage all players on any public Doomsday BF2 server to follow at all times. They are designed to maximize efficiency thereby minimizing team casualties, while substantially increasing the odds of achieving complete mission success. Most armed services throughout the world implement SOP’s in various formats, although generally there is a recognizable commonality that’s easily transferable between most countries and different branches of the service. The real world versus the virtual gaming world presents some serious challenges in directly transferring SOP’s to a small computer screen. A good example of this are “hand signals” which are used extensively by special forces teams, but almost impossible to implement in our virtual gaming world.
