What are Sontara wipes?
Sontara (AC) (WW) is made by Dupont and is engineered to used on aerospace acrylic and plastic cleaning applications. There are actually two series of wipes. One is the AC series, which is an excellent all-around wipe for plastic fairings and general use. This product is very absorbent, low linting and offers excellent wipe-dry properties that eliminates streaking. The second product is the new windshield wipe(WW) .This wipe was specifically designed for aircraft acrylic use. Most scratches are caused by grit and dirt already on the surface of the window, and the use of rags, wood pulp wiping products (paper towels), hand towels will hasten the scratching if not removed prior to polishing the windshield. The WW product has tiny apertures in the wipe which pick up and remove grit and dirt, which helps to reduce the risk of scratching the surface of the glass.
