– For more difficult cleanings if you’re able to intermittently agitate it will disperse the cleaner again. Or you can reach inside the unit and manually turn the drum or agitator. Another tip is to add 1-3 gallons of hot water either through the door or detergent dispenser in order to raise the water level. Over the years of suds and soiled water splashing farther up the outer tub it can build up quite a layer of detergent/fungus. Keep in mind some higher-end units may go into an automatic drain if too much water is added.
