What are some tips for toilet training my puppy?
it is hard work toilet training a puppy. Have a food and water schedule to help with everything. Don’t give him water near bedtime and wake up early to take him out every morning. Then you can go back to bed or get on with your day. you have to stay out until he poops or pees and right after he does give him a treat immediately. He will associate the job with the treat and will be way more comfortable performing the action knowing what’s to come. Scold him using a deeper voice while cleaning up if he goes in the house. Don’t make him smell it or hit him. It is simply not effective and will just make the experience worse. Try to keep a regular schedule the best you can. He will also rely on the time and know okay this is the time to do this. Most dogs also find a “favorite spot” in the yard and always hunt for that place. Try to notice a pattern of where they go and bring them back to that exact spot later and they will sniff the area for the smell of their urine and go there. Eventuall
