College is not an extension of high school. For some of you, this will be the first time that you must make your own decisions. • Unlike high school, teachers will not remind you to do your homework. Learn to manage your workload and time. • Attendance can affect your grades. Be responsible, get up on time, and go to class. • Create a budget. You will need money for everyday expenses. • Stay healthy, eat right, and get enough sleep. Many first-year students get sick and miss too many classes. • Get involved with clubs, organizations, campus events, and intramural activities. But don’t overdo it.
