What are some tips for safe handling of eggs?
Properly storing, handling and cooking eggs allows you to enjoy eggs and helps prevent food-borne illness. We suggest you: • Purchase clean eggs in the shell. Make sure they are not cracked or broken. • Purchase eggs within the “sell by” date stamped on the carton. • Keep eggs refrigerated between 33 and 45*F (do not freeze). • Take eggs out of refrigerator only for immediate use. • Discard any eggs left at room temperature longer than 1 hour. • Cook eggs thoroughly until both the white and yolk are firm.
