What are some things people should know before they get into high school?
I recently graduated, so I have all four years experience with surviving high school. First, I have to stress to you that you have to push the limits without killing your GPA. Go for the Honors and AP Classes–but only if you are confident you will survive them. 2. Get the ‘ideal student’ out of your head. Don’t take classes because you THINK you have to take them. However, do take the classes you are required to take for your diploma. I took a bunch of math and science classes thinking that every respectable high schooler took them. Totally tanked my GPA and I utterly hated those classes and wasted my time. 3. Go to class on time. And go to class period. There is no reason to flunk a class because you played hooky too many times. (Yes, if you go over the alloted amount of days per semester, you will flunk the course–even if you are getting straight A’s.) 4. Make sure you have lunch or lunch money.
