What are some things Anne of Green Gables hoped for?

0

Anne wished and hoped for different things at different times. (I’ll not repeat what you’ve already been told – hopefully.) For instance, she asked Marilla if she would call her Cordelia because “It’s such a perfectly elegant name.” She hoped, at the beginning of the first book, for a home and wanted Matthew and Marilla to love her and keep her at Green Gables. She wished for nut-brown hair at one point. She hoped her hair would grow out quickly after she’d dyed it and it had turned green and it had to be cut. She hoped to be first in school and beat Gilbert Blythe. She hoped to do well in every subject and every reading and recitation. She hoped to win the Avery Scholarship. Later she hoped to support Marilla. In later books, she hoped for a husband and children and then happiness for her children.
