What are some surrealism Ideas?
I’m not sure you understand the concept: a list of “ideas” isn’t quite what you would need. Surrealism takes familiar objects and places them in unusual, physically impossible formats and juxtapositions, using the disquiet to bring the viewer a new insight, often unrelated to the literal meanings of the objects. It’s like the old joke: Q: How many surrealists does it take to change a light bulb? A: Two: one to paint the giraffe, and one to fill the bathtub with brightly-colored power tools. A list of ideas would have to include the objects, their treatment, their relationship or other surreal transformation, and the concept behind that alteration. For instance A candy bar floating through outer space, passing through a moebius-band hoop in rainbow colors. This calls into question whether we actually consume anything permanently, as well as reminding us that these are “empty” calories.
