Each day we experience some type of stress. Stress relaxation techniques can lessen the daily pressure that we experience in our lives. Our body when stressed triggers the flight or fight response. This response activates the release of stress hormones that when released continuously, because of chronic stress, it can be detrimental to our health. These hormones cause symptoms that lead to more serious health problems such as: heart disease, illnesses, and other problems. Everyone relaxes differently. What works for one person may not work for the other. The goal is to find what works for you so you can make it part of your routine of relieving stress. You will need to keep an open mind while trying different techniques. If you start the technique with a preconceived idea you may inhibit the stress relaxation technique from working for you.
