What are some stereotypes of Filipinos in media?

I am not sure about the stereotypes, but my husband just got back from Filipins and he said that there is no middle class. People either live on dirt floors or they are rich. He said that the economy is very cheap and a lot of military guys retire there and take a wife from there. Women will wait on these men hand and foot to get a better life for themselves. He said that he saw a very homely man on an elevator with a beautiful, young Filipino woman and they were going to the 13th floor of the Hyatt and he said that she was all over him and my husband’s first thought was that this was her alternative to sleeping on a dirt floor.
