What are some steps we can take to get started?
Gathering information is an obvious starting place if you’re considering the Baldrige journey. It can feel overwhelming—I’ve been there, I know! But there are lots of small steps you can take to begin to get your arms around the Baldrige approach: • Check out the Baldrige website • At the website, look for the free booklet, Getting Started with the Baldrige Criteria for Performance Excellence • Attend the Baldrige Quest for Excellence Conference in April or one of the two regional conferences in the fall, or attend your state quality organization’s conference. You’ll get to hear the winners tell how they did it. • If you can’t make it to the conference, get a copy of the conference DVD about the year’s winners—the “Award Recipients DVD” from Baldrige. (Email your request to opq@nist.gov) • Start a journal club to research Baldrige and create buy-in among your leaders • Buddy up with another organization that is already on the Baldrige journey • Have several of your people apply to beco
