What are some skills that you think are important in making a living from screen-printing?
– I think the most important thing to realize when screen-printing is to forget about being too precise. Being a perfectionist will take all the fun out of it and probably drive you to madness. I am not a machine, so I shouldn’t create art that looks like it’s been made that way. It’s more important to make mistakes, embrace them as if they were intended, and maybe even incorporate mistakes into the process. In terms of making a living from screen-printing, it’s just important to be patient. Things don’t happen overnight. You won’t be good at printing, and your creations won’t sell unless unless you take the time to let things figure themselves out. The other important thing is to actually go ahead and do it.
