What are some similarities and differences between communism, socialism, and capitalism?
Communism is a form of government that often uses socialism as the economic model Capitalism is also an economic model and usually works better in a free society without the restrictions placed on it by government. Because of the inherent cost of socialism, a strong, controlling government model is usually needed to contain the costs. Marx modeled his communist government model to control not only the economy, but also the workers to ensure continued production. Under Marx’s system the worker receives the bare necessities for survival, so there is little incentive to produce without the threat of punishment from the government. Greece is an example of socialism without the strong government model to control costs. There are no similarities between socialism and capitalism other than the fact that they are economic models. Communism is a model of government.
