I figure it’s just like petting any other dog. Approach them slowly, from the front or side and confidently. Judge the dog before approaching it, and if there’s any doubt about the dog and its behavior then just speak to the dog and don’t actually pet it. I figure they’re just like any other dog…big and goofy.
