What are some really good cardio work outs ?
Elliptical machines are great for the lower body – you get the cardio benefit without as much wear on the knee & ankle joints. Treadmills will definitely give you a good jogging workout, but it’s not as challenging as actually running on a track or road. But I prefer the treadmills regardless. I also like to use rowing machines – they work the upper and lower body and if you keep your abs tight while rowing you will benefit there as well. Something I like to do on the treadmill (aside from jogging) is walking with a slight incline, with 3 – 5 pound dumbbell weights, lifting those to work my arms while I walk – I’ll lift above my head for a minute, however reps I get in doesn’t matter – just lifting them for a minute. Then not lift with them, swinging them at my sides for 30 seconds, then lift with them again for a minute, rest for 30, and so on for 3 sets. I have 3 different types of ‘lifts’ that I do to work my shoulders and pectorals. Start with the lesser weight – it doesn’t sound l
