What are some really good books to read?
Science fiction is usually good for deep, thought-provoking literature. e.g.: Frank Herbert’s “Dune” Isaac Asimov’s “Foundation” Arthur C. Clarke’s “2001: A Space Odyssey” George Orwell’s “1984” Ray Bradbury’s “Fahrenheit 451” Fantasy has long been the home of classics of literature. e.g.: J.R.R. Tolkien’s “The Lord of the Rings” George R.R. Martin’s “A Song of Ice and Fire” series C.S. Lewis’ “The Chronicles of Narnia” [although this is aimed at younger readers] The old classics like: Cervantes’ “Don Quixote” Alexandre Dumas’ “The Three Musketeers” and “The Count of Monte Cristo” Charles Dickens’ “Oliver Twist”, “David Copperfield”, and “Great Expectations” Modern novels like: Stephen King’s “The Dark Tower” series John Irving’s “The World According to Garp” Brian Jacques’ “Redwall” In the end, there are thousands of books, and anyone will tell you what the “classics” and “must-reads” are, but only you can choose for yourself.
