What are some really beautiful romantic paintings?
I too would say the work of the Pre-Raphaelite painters’ are by far the most beautiful, especially the work of John William Waterhouse. ‘The Lady of Shallot’ is his most recognised piece. The whole ethos of the Pre-Raphaelites was to portray beauty, both in nature and through the illustration of the Romantic Poems, Shakespeare and the Arthurian Legends.
