Pros: -You can get a much bigger/nicer land/house for your money or the QC side – A lot of people are bilingual or speak a very decent English (some area are mostly English) – Don’t have to pay for water – Electricity is cheaper -Close to Ottawa Cons:- you pay more income taxes To be honest, I don’t see many cons about living in Gatineau. I lived in Val-des-Monts for 2 years and I loved it. We were 20 minutes away from downtown Ottawa but were enjoying a 1.5 acre land where we felt at home. Before moving there, we were in the Westboro area and had a small house and backyard. It was nice, but we needed more room! It really all depends of your interest. I’m a French Canadian, my husband is English, we get along great…but it’s not always the case between English and French in Canada…If you don’t have any problem with it, I don’t see what could stop you! Oh and my in-laws (who don’t speak a word of French!) have been living in the Aylmer area for over 30 years and they love it. Their n
