You need to decide what kind of professional psychologist you want to be – educational, clinical, occupational, sports, counselling…and a whole lot more! They will all involve some form of postgraduate training so it will take around 6-7 years before you are qualified. If you don’t want to become a professional psychologist it’s a great undergraduate degree to have due to the rigorous training in statistics and methodology – it’s often much in demand by employers and it leaves open a lot of career choices – such as journalism, marketing, advertising, research etc.
