What are some pros and cons about being an only child?
I absolutely understand wanting to have another one so the first will have a playmate and I don’t think it’s horrible at all! I have one son and the hardest thing about it is that he wants me to play with him ALL the time but someone has to make dinner and do the laundry, etc. I try to involve him in whatever I’m doing but it’s not the same as having another kid around! It’s also hard not to spoil him and he has a more difficult time socially than kids who come from larger families because social interaction with kids is age isn’t part of everday life (he just turned 5 and hasn’t started Kindergarten yet). On the positive side, he is my main focus and it’s easier to go places and do things than it would be with more kids. I don’t have to worry about conflicting schedules and I can sign him up for whatever classes he wants to try and even parent/child classes without having to worry about finding childcare for siblings.
