What are some plants that will grow year round?
It would be so much easier if we knew where you live. not all trees do well in all areas. There are plenty of small ornamental trees. Although it would laso help to know what “too big” means to you. To me, a “small tree” is any that doesn’t get much more than 15-20 feet. If you need smaller, the Snow Fountain weeping cherry (fruitless) usually gets only 7-10 feet. One really good way to look for trees and shrubs or perennials is to go to your local garden store or nursery this spring. They will carry what does well in your area. Flag down a nursery employee and ask about what small ornamental trees or shrubs they have, and what you have in mind for it, and how much sunlight the spot in question receives. They’ll be happy to show you plants that will do well there.
