What are some other names for Salvia Divinorum?
There are some traditional names for this plant that include: “ska Pastora” (Shepherdess’ herb), “ska Mara Pastora” (Mary Shepherdess’ herb), “hojas de la Pastora” (leaves of the Shepherdess), “hojas de Mara Pastora” (leaves of Mary Shepherdess), “hierba Mara” (Mary’s herb), “yerba de Mara” (herb of Mary), and “la hembra” (the female). R. Gordon Wasson decided that Salvia D might represent the ancient Aztec herb pipiltzintzintli (“most noble little prince”). There are some modern Salvia believers who call it “mint” or “sadi”. However, most commonly it is simply referred to by its genus name Salvia.
