• A good rule of thumb about posting… if you were in an auditorium with 2100 other knitters, would you ask for the floor to announce this information? If not, please reconsider posting it. • Be specific in your subject line. There are list members who are interested primarily in technical knitting tidbits, and some who are interested primarily in posts about fibers, and some who love to hear about new magazines and books. The more specific the subject line, the easier it is for folks to know what you’re going to write about. • If you are posting about a number of topics, break your posts up into discrete sections with headers. This helps people who only have time to skim, and are interested in some topics but not others. It also increases readablilty. • If you reply to a post, you can choose to reply either to the entire list, or just to the person who sent the note. Consider which is appropriate.
