What are some of the trends in terms of farm equipment worldwide?
“The global trends are that farm equipment has gotten bigger and bigger, and more and more efficient. So now the biggest four wheel drive articulater in the world is made by AGCO. We also have the most efficient four wheel conventional tractor. So what concerns farmers is fuel consumption. We are working on reducing the in-field travel time so that farmers can get from one field to another more quickly. We’re also developing air suspension systems and ABS systems. Those are examples of how tractors can be more efficient. We are also developing auto guidance systems. Traditionally farmers left an overlap as they went across a field, but with auto guidance you can actually steer the tractor within an inch correct. Your company has created an Advanced Technology Solutions group. How will AGCO benefit from that and when will it see a return on investment?
