Some of the specific requirements include: • Only authorized personnel can operate aerial lifts. • The manufacturer or equivalent must certify any modification. • The insulated portion must not be altered to reduce its insulating value. • Lift controls must be clearly marked. • Brakes must be set and outriggers used. • Boom and basket load limits must not be exceeded. • Employees must wear personal fall arrest systems, with the lanyard attached to the boom or basket. • No devices to raise the employee above the basket floor can be used.
