What are some of the side effects of celexa?
Celexa, otherwise known as citalopram and used to treat depression, may alter blood pressure causing it shoot up or fall down. Further, celexa can result in difficult breathing, irregular heartbeat, shivering, fever and/or allergy in form of inflammation of the face, lips or tongue. In case of any of these side effects, patients are advised to immediately stop taking celexa and consult their doctor. Other side effects include nausea, sleeplessness, drowsiness, impotence, decreased libido particularly among men, anxiety, nervousness, headache, altered weight, dry mouth, vomiting and/or diarrhea. Patients experiencing any of these symptoms while taking celexa can continue taking the medication but need to discuss the situation with their doctors. A key behavioral change observed in patients taking celexa is increased suicidal tendency, especially among 18 years old or younger.
