WeatherActive Internet Server (WAIS) Version 3.x has now been designed to connect to our central server (called WeatherActive Data Center) and send weather data from the weather station. It still has all the “server” capabilities of the previous version, but instead of connecting directly to WAIS and overcoming firewall restrictions, one will also be able to connect to Data Center to get the data from the weather station. Once you install WAIS Version 3.x for the appropriate weather station, go to the “Options” Tab and CHECK the box labeled “Connect to Data Center”. Then go to the “Status” Tab, click the START button, ….wait a few seconds…. The “Data Center” textbox above the START button should now say CONNECTED. If it does…. we are all set. If it does not: note that WAIS makes a “client” TCP connection to the Data Center server “weatheractive.com” on TCP Port 4043. Some firewalls are setup to be so restrictive so as to block all outbound TCP ports except the well-known ones; so
