What are some of the “must see” sights in the Lucca area?
If you are lucky to visit Tuscany in February, Carnival of Viareggio in Lucca province would definitely make a great "must see". In fact, Viareggio carnival gathers hundreds and thousands of tourists at this time of the year, and it is almost as famous in Italy as the Venice carnival.
Giant papier – mache dolls placed on the carnival carts make their way through Viareggio streets, along with musicians and dancers entertaining the crowd.
