What are some of the more unusual exterior materials used on kaleidoscopes?
Many of the more unusual materials used in constructing kaleidoscopes are in the form of found objects. Gears, bottles, eggs, even a clarinet have been used. A particularly unusual kaleidoscope was created by artist Bill Johnson and named Marquis de Sadescope. It’s exterior is wood with rosebush thorns.
