What are some of the more interesting uses for excess seashells that have been collected – by you or others?

Ok, as you are probably aware, I am using some “rejects” to help with an erosion issue I have outside. When it rains, the water comes shooting off the crook of an “L” shape in the roof line and is making a hole in the ground from the force. So I put shells in the depression and the soil/sand is not being displaced any more. I’ve known other people who have used shells for this purpose. Chris has a whole blog “Things Created By Me” which is primarily comprised of things for which she has used shells. Tootie is always picking up “craft” shells for Chris. I’ve seen pics somewhere of people turning them into drawer pulls, affixing them to shower curtain hooks with glue. I’ve also seen real shells attached to pull chains for light fixtures – I think I saw this in a catalog. Oh, and I’ve seen air plants “growing” out of shells, whi
