What are some of the misconceptions about search firms?
Employment agencies do not necessarily act in the sole interest of the client company. Some receive payment from candidates for assistance with their job search. An executive search firm never receives payment from a potential candidate. Payment is made by the client company in various manners. Employment agencies do not network as executive search firms do to generate the best candidates possible in the marketplace. At an employment agency resumes may be sent with little screening, with out the candidates knowledge, and possibly without the client company’s request. These practices are not conducted at reputable executive search firms.
