What are some of the main causes of overweight children?
There are three main causes for children to be overweight. The first and easiest one to change is soda consumption. One can of soda will have 38 grams of sugar. By drinking this one little can of soda, you are just basically opening these test tubes of sugar up and just pouring it into your mouth. The other contributors to overweight as a kid are activity levels. Our kids aren’t as active and they’re not using all the calories we used to burn when we were playing and riding our bikes outside. The third one is television watching or screen viewing. Studies have shown that children who watch more than two hours of television tend to be overweight and at high risk for obesity as an adult. Kids who watch less than two hours a day of television or use computers have a much more normal weight.
