What are some of the highlights of the Sociology program?
· In the first two years, a mix of introductory Sociology, social science, core competency, and elective courses provide an ideal general foundation for specialized study in Sociology in the upper years. As a Sociology student, you will take SOC 104 and SOC 107 in first and second semesters, plus a wide range of electives based on your personal interests. In third and fourth semester, you will be able to take SOC 470 and SOC 525. You will have the flexibility to take courses and determine your interests in your first two years studying social sciences at Ryerson. · In semesters five through eight, Sociology students will take our required courses SOC 473, 475, 481, 482, 483, 490, 491, in addition to electives in both Sociology and other subjects. With an urban focus, these courses will establish the links between theoretical knowledge, and practical applications in the workforce.
