What are some of the ground rules in transcribing?
We are doing something called the Clean Verbatim – the content of the professors lecture is verbatim, but we omit the non-verbal utterance such as ‘uh..’ and ‘uhm..’, ‘double- doubled’ words and ‘st-st-stutters’. Remember, the goal is to help the learners learn. In addition, we are certain that MIT would appreciate our effort to make their professors sound better.
