What are some of the foods people that are lactose-tolerant able to eat?
Anything but dairy products. Some people have severe lactose intolerance, and others very mild. I can eat yogurt, cheese, and small amounts of nonfat milk without issue – but have problems when eating ice cream or regular milk. I have no issues with any other food products made with milk-based ingredients. My problems with ice cream and milk are easily avoided by using either Lactose-free products, or taking a Lactaid pill when I consume dairy. Other people can’t have any dairy, and lactaid pills are of no use. All other dairy-free foods are fine. Lactose is a sugar found in milk, so if the product doesn’t have any milk-based ingredients – then there’s no lactose to worry about.
