What are some of the different types of laces?
Alencon lace is a delicate floral leaf design in a fine net background outlined with heavy threads to define the pattern and add dimension. Battenberg lace is made by applying a coarse linen tape to the design and connecting tape with decorative linen stitching. Schiffli lace is an intricate floral pattern embroidered directly onto the gown as opposed to a separate lace sewn to the fabric.
