Most FireWire cards contain bundled software of varying quality. My preference is for the Radius card, because you can get their excellent EditDV software bundled with it. A bit later in this FAQ, you’ll find more detailed information on EditDV. Adobe Premiere LE can be upgraded to regular Premiere for $ 299. Since it’s a $ 800 program, Premiere LE’s presence can save you quite a bit of money if you want to use Premiere. From all accounts, it’s well worth upgrading. Most of the cards come with capture software of varying quality. The best is probably Radius MotoDV, which comes with the EditDV bundle as well.
