What are some of the community service projects SC Beta is involved in?
The most important service we provide to the engineering community is a free tutoring program. Each member must be available to volunteer one hour of service a week to this duty. Even with the hour per week requirement, most members will not end up tutoring every week (Supply tutors > Demand tutors). We will be calling Future USC Engineering students to welcome them and help answer their questions. We tentatively hold an Engineering Futures Session each semester to help students prepare themselves for their careers by enhancing their technical effectiveness through interpersonal skills and teamwork development. We also may be involved in a Habitat for Humanity project in the future.
