As an English teacher in Korea we feel pressure something I’ve ever caused or changed. I think that English teachers are the most vulnerable and suffering among teachers in Korea. For examples, everybody seems to expect something different from English teachers. In the classroom, students expect something “fun” in the English class and they think they deserve to be entertained from the English teacher. They’d only like to have “fun” fun homework. I have no problem with having fun or entertaining my students but I am a teacher and I need to concern what the students have to learn through the year. Like this, many English teachers face to the conflicts between “fun” and “curriculums” and many of us are willing to pursue the both “fun” and “curriculums” for the lessons. However many of us feel stuck between the series of exams and tests and they often make us unable to be consistent. What is the current government policy regarding English teaching?
