What are some of NARAL Pro-Choice Massachusettss most important accomplishments?
We helped to elect the first pro-choice legislature in state history in 2004 and the largest pro-choice legislative majority in 2008. In 2007, we worked with our allies to pass the Buffer Zone Bill, creating a fixed, 35-foot area around reproductive health facilities to protect patients and staff. In 2003, we authored the Emergency Contraception Bill, which became law in 2005, making emergency contraception more available at pharmacies and requiring hospital emergency rooms to offer it to rape survivors.
